Job description

For our client – a leader among international technology companies, we are looking for an ambitious IT Project Manager to join a new software development team.

The person will be responsible for:

  • Quantifying priority change impacts to succeeding projects, such as organizational opportunity costs of delays and time delays, and ensure appropriate representation on the company’s artifacts (Sharepoint or otherwise)
  • Diligent management of capacity plan, ensuring live dates are accurately reflected, cross-team dependent work is being prioritized, started and completed in a manner that minimizes waste across teams
  • Building and maintaining an organizational project Status Dashboard. Hours spent by project, late projects, current projects by team(s), projects by category (revenue, customer sat, custom dev, etc)
  • Standardizing items including but not limited to: project status updates, guidelines for when to procure project management, estimation templates (Possibly), Risk management and remediation, solidifying project hour recording (time-keeping) processes and enforcing so we have up-to-date project data
  • Identifying and evolving knowledge of EEFs (enterprise environmental factors) and OPAs (organizational process assets)
  • Conducting and project status meetings for projects exceeding certain hours thresholds or organizational value thresholds
  • Acting as an escalation point for AMs and POs for risk management, vendor/third-party management, issue resolution
  • Conducting periodic lessons learned sessions to build up organizational assets and tribal knowledge and harbor continuous improvement
  • Conducting project appraisals (PROJECT RETRO) for projects meeting certain thresholds to support organizational agility and continuous improvement
  • Establishing and conduct communication plans for major initiatives (thinking data center migration, company's Portal refresh) where much of the organization is impacted
Requirements
  • Strong previous experience as IT Project Manager
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team oriented individual who is able to work with multiple sizes of groups or departments, as well as a diverse group of individuals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English, including technical writing skills
  • Curious and collaborative person, comfortable working independently as well as in a team
  • Detail-oriented, with an analytical mindset
  • Well-organized with excellent time-management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
