Job description

We are pleased to announce the opening of a new Business Services Center in Warsaw for a global production company (American capital).

We are building the team and now looking for an experienced General Ledger Accountant with leadership experience or strong potential for it as the successful candidate will become a leader for a small team of accountants, which will gradually grow over time (approx. 20 people in 5 years).

Duties will include:

  • ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time in compliance with the US GAAP and statutory accounting standards - 25% of time
  • perform account reconciliation (Accruals, Interco, Prepayments) as well as sub-ledger reconciliations (Bank, Receivables, Fixed Assets, Payroll etc.) - 15% of time
  • ensure timely and correct recording of all G/L transactions; sample checks of postings and grant compliance to company policy and US GAAP financial standards. Supervision of AP/AR team to ensure sub ledger accuracy and provide guidance and support in issue resolution - 15% of time
  • co-ordination and processing of month end closings and financial reporting; provide variance analysis; responsible for SOX/Internal Control compliance - 15% of time
  • ensure proper and timely statutory year end reporting and produce subsequent financial reports to be made available for review by local external auditor. Supervise monthly Polish VAT declaration submissions - 10% of time
  • provide statutory year and reports, liaise and align with auditors, maintain Chart of Accounts
  • identify and implement process improvement initiatives and track service level achievements - 10% of time
Requirements
  • fluent English - strictly required
  • education within finance and accounting and or ACCA, CIMA, CPA etc. qualifications - strongly preferred
  • min. 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar position and scope of duties
  • experience in working with IFRS/US GAAPS, local GAAPS, SOX Internal Controls
